SimCity™ 4 Deluxe Edition App Reviews

The game runs beautifully on my 1-year old iMac (base model). It’s terribly addictive, though, as were previous Sim City games. The game is awesome, and it runs with so many functions going on, yet isn’t totally overwhelming. It’s easy to get started but watching the tutorial is in my opinion a must, even for experienced users. In a short time, you can create several cities and have them interact. You can zoom in and find just enough detail about buildings and individual Sims to keep it interesting. I’ve always had difficulty building a sustainable city, but even so it’s still totally enjoyable.

Even after trying all the solutions Aspyr Support could provide, my city keeps on disappearing after few saves, like it never existed, buildings, land and all. I hope i’m the only one with this problem but still I will think before buying any other game from them. The game is great, till it crash.

I have an iMac with 32GB RAM, and its maybe 2 years old. Application will not launch at all.

Remeber those awesome candies growing up? And then you see them in the store, buy them and taste one for the first time in years. They really aren’t that good. In fact they’re not enjoyable at all. And it’s in your mouth! That’s when realization strikes and a little bit of your childhood dies. I just experienced that with this game

I have always loved Sim City, so when I saw that it was offered on the apple store I naturally, got excited. The game is everything you expect form Sim City, in depth, realistic, and most importantly fun. However, and this is a big however, playing it on a Retina screen is painful! The graphics are terribly grainy (obviously because I’m used to a crystal clear display). If they fixed the graphics and made them HD I would, without hesitation, give this game a 5 star ranking.

Don’t update if you don’t have your plugins and settings backed up, it’ll all be deleted.

Do not buy this! low resuliton and low quality! Totally different version compare to ipad one. I do not like the mac version! I demand a refund!!!!!

豊富なユーザー製プラグインを導入することで、多様な街を創れるのが魅力の本作。 ただ残念なことに、既に他の方がご報告されている通り、一部のプラグインが使用できない不具合があります。 普通にプレイする分には問題ないのですが、景観を重視した都市を創ろうとした時に歯痒さを感じるかもしれません。 （なおこの不具合はOSX 10.7以降のパッケージ版でも発生します） 購入済み、またはパッケージ版をお持ちの方へ。 Network Addon Modですが、一部機能が使用できなくなるものの、以下のファイルを除去すれば導入可能です。 -NetworkAddonMod_High_ElRail_Plugin.dat -NetworkAddonMod_High_Monorail_Plugin.dat -NetworkAddonMod_Bridges_Plugin_Controller.dat -Modern Arched GHSR Station -Modern HSR Station -Modern Monorail and Bullet Train Station ファイル名通り、2倍の高さの高架鉄道とモノレール、High Speed Rail、新幹線、および追加の橋が使用できません。 ご注意ください。 --------------------------------------------- NAM追記関連の不具合について追記 NAM開発チームによると、最新版（NAM 32）では、以下の2つのファイルの不具合は解消されたとのこと。 -NetworkAddonMod_High_ElRail_Plugin.dat -NetworkAddonMod_High_Monorail_Plugin.dat したがって2倍の高さの高架鉄道とモノレールは問題なく利用できるそうです。 またAddtional Bridge（追加の橋）についてですが、 -NetworkAddonMod_Bridges_Plugin_Controller.dat このファイルをPluginフォルダ外に退避させ、橋を設置する時に限って一時的に復帰させる、 という方法で利用することができます。詳細は以下の通り。 1. 橋を設置する都市を、一時停止状態で保存して終了する。 2. NetworkAddonMod_Bridges_Plugin_Controller.dat をPluginフォルダに復帰させる。 3. 一時停止中の都市をロードして橋を設置、そのまま（一時停止を解かないまま）保存して終了する。 4. NetworkAddonMod_Bridges_Plugin_Controller.dat をPluginフォルダから除外する。

※2014年4月19日にレビューした内容を大幅に修正の上加筆 MacBookPro Early2011にてプレイ。環境は次の通り： CPU：Intel Core i7 OS：El Capitan v10.11.3 メモリ：4GB グラフィックス：AMD Radeon HD 6490M・Intel HD Graphics 3000 従前よりPowerPC版のSimCity4を所有。後に配布されたIntelMac対応パッチも当て、これまで騙し騙しプレイしてきました。 このたびAppStoreより改めてIntelネイティブとして販売されたとのことで、それまでのOS LionからMarveriks(当時)にアップグレードしての購入。 なるほど、Intelパッチを当てたPowerPC版よりも動作が滑らかで、特段フリーズする恐れも気配もなく快適にプレイできます。 問題は、これまで溜め込んできたBATやMOD・開発中マップなど個人データの移行がスムーズに出来るかどうか。 結論から申しまして、これが全くスムーズではありませんでした(´ ･_･`) 開発中マップの移行は数が少ないこともあってか一発で終わりましたが、溜め込んだBAT/MOD類の容量はおよそ1.9GB・数にすると実に2000以上。案の定出来るものと出来ないものに分かれてしまい、その切り分けに長期間四苦八苦することになってしまいました。 ちなみに移行に失敗した場合、 ・タイトル画面「MAXIS」ロゴの下の文字が消える ・開発マップ選択画面でも文字が消える ・そもそも起動しない 上記のいずれかもしくはすべての症状が出ます。 これらの症状が出る度に問題の有りそうなBATを一個ずつ外しては再起動、問題が出たらまた外し・・・という作業が延々と続き、快適なプレイとは程遠い状態が暫く続きました。 ＝＝＝＝＝＝ここから追記（2016.3.1）＝＝＝＝＝ あまりに先の見えない作業に半ば投げやりになって放置していたある日、当アプリのレビューを覗いたところ、 「JDatPacker等の結合ソフトでファイル数を減らせば云々」 また別の日にネット上でSimCity4関連情報をあさったところ、 「AppStore版SimCity4には導入できるBAT/MODファイルの数に限界があるらしく云々」 という記述があるのを発見し、その通りにJDatPackerでBATファイルを大きく減らした後に起動したところ・・・ おおおお！何と無事に起動するではありませんか！ しかも動作も非常に安定、文字が消えるとかの症状も全く起きず、極めて快適にプレイ出来ております。 後日、現在のEl Capitanにアップグレードしましたが、引き続き特に不具合もなく遊べています。 ところで 「マップ名および市長名を日本語にするとマップが消える」 という報告をちらほら見ますが、私の環境では両方共ばっちり日本語名にしてありますが、今のところマップが消えるなどの症状は起きておりません。 PowerPC版時代からずっと日本語名でしたが、一度もマップ消失という現象は起きませんでした。気になるようでしたらマメにバックアップを取ることをお勧めします。 開発マップを含むSimCity4の個人データは、 /Users/あなた/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.simcity4.appstore/Data/Documents/SimCity 4 に格納されています。この中のRegionsフォルダに開発マップファイル、PluginsフォルダにBAT/MODファイルがあります。 あと 「exe形式で配布されているBAT/MODが導入できない」 点については、「FileJuicer」というexe解凍ソフトで展開した後、中身をPluginsフォルダに放り込めば解決します。 この時ファイル名の改変は特に必要ありません（後で整理する時に困ることになりますが）。

I was a big fan of Simcity 2000 oh so many years ago. I’m disappointed that this one has so many frustrating bits. I simply gave up on it when I found I was constantly wasting time trying to make elevated highways do what I wanted. It’s not fun to spend an hour constantly smoothing terrain into whatever exact contour is acceptable for building a highway that goes in a direction other than straight. It’s also impossible to know what you’re *supposed* to do to make it work. It sound like a small dumb thing, but… the whole experience adds up to a game (or toy) that simply is not fun to play with. I wonder if I can get Simcity 2000 in the app store...

This is one of the best SimCity games ever released. Gameplay is smoother than previous version with plenty of added challenges.

Its amazing how realistic this game is but… when you do "snap to roads" (shift) when you are driving and you are in a car or truck that has a siren sometimes the cars dont pull over, they turn into your lane. its annoying when you are doing a mission to save your citys money. i still rate this 5 stars because its AMAZING!!

The game has been stuck at “Installing - 2 mins" for about half an hour.

I have at least 10,000 hours logged on SimCity 4 Deluxe for the PC, so I know the game’s mechanics very intimately. This is the greatest sandbox simulation game ever created. Aspyr, the developers of this version of the game, have ruined it. The music has been changed. The entire UI is some strange green, candied buttons. They have talked about fixing these but you still can’t use certain terraforming tools like canyon. There’s no longer the ability to add landmarks or casinos as there is no more achievements. It might be a fun way to pass some time if you’ve never played but veterans beware.
